Nordic Compensation & Benefits Generalist
We’re now seeking a Compensation & Benefits Generalist to join us on a 12‑month contract and help drive the rollout of the new Global Rewards roadmap across the Nordic entities.
Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières/MSF) is currently transforming its global rewards policies and tools to better support a diverse workforce and adapt to evolving operational needs. Led by MSF’s global leadership, this initiative aims to promote greater equity, transparency, and consistency across all programs.
As part of this effort, MSF entities in the Nordic region (Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland) are working together to ensure a smooth implementation of global rewards policies. That’s why we’re looking for a Nordic Compensation and Benefits Generalist. This role sits at the heart of our ongoing Rewards Review work, where strong change management, clear communication and cross‑Nordic collaboration are essential to success.
In this role, you will work closely with the Nordic Compensation & Benefits Specialist (Nordic C&B Specialist), HR Directors, and HR teams across the region to ensure that new policies, structures and processes are implemented smoothly and understood by all. A significant part of the role is helping teams navigate change by turning complex developments into clear, accessible information, supporting alignment discussions, and ensuring staff feel informed, supported, and engaged throughout the transition.
By contributing to consistent communication, thoughtful change management, and well‑coordinated implementation, you help build the foundations that allow our colleagues to stay focused on what matters most: delivering lifesaving medical care to people who need it most.
We are actively working towards creating an inclusive workplace where all voices are heard, respected, and valued. We are committed to accessibility and are happy to make reasonable adjustments for candidates who may need them during the recruitment process and throughout employment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the assessment of change management activities linked to the Rewards Review, including preparing insights and summaries for the Nordic C&B Specialist and HR leadership.
Contribute to the development and coordination of project implementation plans and timelines.
Create communication and change materials, and support risk identification and mitigation across the Nordic offices.
Support the drafting and updating of policies for Mobile Staff and HQ‑based staff, ensuring strong Nordic alignment in close collaboration with the Nordic C&B team.
Support the Nordic C&B Specialist in preparing for the rollout of Reward Review deliverables by helping finalize salary policy documentation and ensuring tools, templates, and monitoring processes are up to date.
Contribute to harmonizing Compensation & Benefits practices across the Nordic sections with MSF’s global standards.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Economics, Social Sciences or a related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.
2 to 5 years’ experience in HR, in the area of Compensation & Benefits, Rewards or HR policy implementation.
Experience supporting HR projects or change initiatives, preferably in an international or multi‑entity setting.
Practical experience with salary reviews, job grading (HAY/KF), reward‑related processes, and preparing HR documentation and implementation materials.
Strong project management, stakeholder coordination, analytical skills, and ability to work independently across teams.
Experience communicating change initiatives to different staff groups.
Fluent in English (min. B2); Scandinavian language skills are a plus.
Preferably based in the Nordics (Norway, Sweden, Denmark, or Finland), but must be within the European time zone in a country with an MSF office: Nordic-based candidates preferred.
Current/Previous MSF experience is preferred.
What We Offer
Full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract starting June 2026.
Based in one of our Nordic offices: Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen, or Helsinki.
Opportunity to support a global initiative advancing equity and transparency in MSF’s workforce.
Collaborative role within a cross-border Nordic team, with global MSF engagement.
Salary at MSF Hay level 16 in Nordics with monthly salary of:
Norway: 55,855 NOK - 61,320 NOK | Sweden: 42,406 SEK - 47,734 SEK | Denmark: 43, 924 DKK - 46,560 DKK | Finland: 3,797 € - 4,556 €.
Other offices/partner sections: For candidates based in other MSF office locations within the European time zone, local MSF salary policies will apply.
Important: The final compensation offer will be determined by your relevant MSF and external experience, in line with the salary and benefits policies of the hiring MSF office. The final offer is non-negotiable.
At MSF, we are committed to an inclusive culture that encourages and supports the diverse voices of our employees. We welcome applications from individuals of all genders, ages, sexual orientations, nationalities, races, religions, beliefs, ability status, and all other diversity characteristics.
